Husky Karaoke is a browser extension for singing karaoke at home. It is built so that the music you play and the singing in your room stay on your own computer. This page explains the little information that does leave it, and why.
What stays on your computer
- The music and video. Husky Karaoke separates the singer’s voice from the music on your own computer, using its graphics chip, and plays the result straight back. The audio and video are never sent to us, recorded, or stored.
- What you watch. We do not receive your YouTube history, your searches, or your YouTube account.
- Your settings. Volume, key, vocal-guide level and similar settings are kept in your browser.
The guest remote
When you start a party with the guest remote, the extension opens a room on our relay server at relay.huskykaraoke.com, so that guests’ phones can reach your computer. While the party runs, the relay passes along:
- the songs guests add to the queue and the order they play in,
- the names guests type for themselves,
- playback commands, such as pause or skip.
A room exists only in the relay’s memory while the party is running and is not saved anywhere. Our logs do not record room codes or queue contents.
Passes
Using Husky Karaoke needs a pass, including the free one. To know which passes belong to your browser, the extension creates a random identifier and keeps it in your browser. It is not linked to your name, email address, or Google account.
Our license service at api.huskykaraoke.com keeps a record of each pass: its type, when it started and ended, and the identifier it belongs to. We keep these records after a pass ends, for accounting and to resolve problems.
A pass can move to another computer on the same home network. To allow that, we store a scrambled, one-way code derived from your network address while the pass is active. It cannot be turned back into your address.
We do not ask for your name or email address to give you a pass.
Payments
Paid passes are paid for through PayPal, on PayPal’s own checkout. Your card and PayPal account details go to PayPal, not to us; PayPal’s privacy statement covers what it does with them.
From each payment we keep the PayPal order and payment IDs, what was bought, its price and currency, and the pass it paid for. PayPal also tells us the payer’s name and email address when a payment completes; we don’t store them. If you need help with a purchase, your PayPal transaction ID is how we find it.
When you buy from the extension’s Buy a Pass button, the store page receives a one-time checkout reference that links the purchase to your browser’s random identifier. The reference expires after 30 minutes, and neither it nor the identifier is sent to PayPal.
IP addresses
Our servers see your IP address when the extension or a guest’s phone connects. We use it briefly to stop abuse, for example by limiting how many rooms can be opened from one address. Our application logs do not record it.
This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers of its own. It remembers the language and currency you choose in your browser’s local storage, and nowhere else. The store page loads PayPal’s checkout, which may set PayPal’s own cookies under its privacy statement.
Children
Husky Karaoke is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
