Every song on YouTube, ready to sing tonight.

Husky Karaoke turns the singer down while YouTube plays, keeps the picture in step with the sound, and lets every guest queue songs from their own phone. Your TV becomes the karaoke room.

How a party works

  1. 1Put YouTube on the TV

Connect your computer to the TV, open YouTube in Chrome or Edge, and switch on Husky Karaoke. The vocals drop away as the song plays.

  2. 2Guests scan the code

A QR code appears on screen. Guests open it in their phone’s browser. There is no app to install and no account to make.

  3. 3Everyone takes a turn

Guests add songs from their phones. The queue rotates fairly between singers, and everyone can see who is up next.

What it does

Built for a living room full of people, not a recording studio.

  • Any song becomes karaoke

If it plays on YouTube, you can sing it. No waiting for someone to upload a karaoke version of the song you want.

  • Vocals off, or as a guide

Take the original singer out completely, or keep them quietly in the mix to help you find the melody.

  • Sing in your key

Move any song up or down by as much as six semitones to suit your voice.

  • Picture and sound stay together

Separating the voice takes a moment, so Husky Karaoke holds the video back to match. Lips and lyric captions line up with what you hear.

  • A remote for every guest

Each phone can add songs, see the queue, and press Skip on an ad when YouTube offers one.

  • Stays on your computer

The voice is separated by your computer’s own graphics chip. Nothing you play is downloaded, recorded, or uploaded.

Passes

Pay once for the time you want. Nothing renews, and there is no account to make.

A pass’s time starts when the first song plays, not when you buy it.
Not sure yet? The extension gives you a Free Pass to try it first.

What you need

  • A Windows or Mac computer with Chrome or Microsoft Edge
  • Graphics that support WebGPU — most recent computers do, and Husky Karaoke checks yours the first time it starts
  • A TV or projector connected to the computer
  • Guests’ phones, with any web browser

Questions

Does it block YouTube ads?

No. Ads play as YouTube shows them. When YouTube offers a Skip button, any guest can press it from their phone. For no ads at all, subscribe to YouTube Premium.

Is anything I play or sing uploaded?

No. The audio is separated on your computer and played straight back. Only the song queue passes through our server, so guests’ phones can reach your party.

Do guests need to install anything?

No. They scan the code on the TV and use their phone’s web browser.

How cleanly are the vocals removed?

Very cleanly on most studio recordings. Live recordings and heavily layered harmonies can leave some voice behind. The vocal guide lets you decide how much of the singer you hear.

How much does it cost?

Passes start at US$4.99 for one hour. There’s no subscription: you pay once, and the time starts when the first song plays. The extension also gives you a Free Pass to try it first.

Can I use it in a bar or KTV business?

No. Husky Karaoke is for personal use at home. Playing music to the public needs performance licences that Husky Karaoke does not provide.
